Program Purpose:

Several polymers are used for the fabrication of adhesives and coatings. Poly(vinyl acetate) latexes arex000D
polymers that are stable in aqueous dispersion. These polymers are environmentally friendly and exhibitx000D
superior prospects due to their waterborne nature, having lower volatile organic compounds and betterx000D
film-forming property. However, the accumulation of static charges on the surface of these polymers is a majorx000D
problem for using them as adhesives or coatings. This is why it is important to determine if the change in thex000D
experimental conditions of the preparation of these polymers can affect their electrostatic properties. Ourx000D
short-term objective is thus to determine the electrostatic properties of several poly(vinyl acetate) latexes inx000D
order to develop novel latexes with appropriate electrostatic properties.
