Additional Information:

Grant or Award spanning more than one fiscal year (2017-2018 to 2018-2019).

Recipient's Legal Name:
Ramsay, Juliana (Queen’s University)
Program:
Engage Grants for Universities
Program Purpose:

Graphene is a potentially disruptive technology in the medical sector. The focus of this project is to evaluate the antibacterialx000D
properties of Grafoids graphene materials and correlate the materials characteristics (such as its wetability, surface coverage,x000D
film thickness, surface morphology, and type of support) with bacterial kill. This information will provide insight into thex000D
mechanism(s) of kill and contribute to developing materials with improved/optimized antimicrobial properties and guide potentialx000D
applications. The knowledge obtained will aid Grafoid in the development of joint ventures to create a suite of products withx000D
antimicrobial properties.
