Program Purpose:

Social Assets Measurements Inc (o/a SAMETRICA) creates software that enables clients to create customx000D
social impact measurement frameworks for their organizations. The problem SAMETRICA faces is that thex000D
data their clients collect, along with data from other sources, e.g., census, open city data, etc., are notx000D
semantically interoperable. This means that the data cannot be combined and compared without significantx000D
effort put into translating into a common, semantically precise and unambiguous representation. This projectx000D
will develop an ontology which will provide a clear, precise and formal semantics for social impact data. Thex000D
ontology will bridge the differences between the terminology and indicators used by the individual clients,x000D
providing a common basis for building comparable custom evaluation frameworks, benchmarking performancex000D
and tracking progress. The ontology will be formally defined using Description Logic, and delivered using thex000D
Semantic Web OWL syntax.
