Program Purpose:

Airbly Inc. is a company that designs and manufactures automatic aircraft logging devices, which is located inx000D
Argyle Shore, PEI. So far, Airbly has rolled out a state-of-the-art aircraft logging device named Phoenixx000D
Aircraft MonitorTM, which passively monitors every aircraft flight and automatically reports usage overx000D
satellite as the plane flies. It is capable of turning itself on when it detects an engine start and turning itself offx000D
when the engine stops. Every logbook entry includes the following items: time, flight path, alarms, and weatherx000D
conditions. Despite the success of Phoenix Aircraft MonitorTM, Airbly would like to further improve thex000D
precision of the flight path module. Technically, Airbly would like to utilize the available sensing informationx000D
to obtain high-precision positioning of aircrafts. In this project, we will collaboratively work with Airbly, ourx000D
industry partner, to come up with a novel positioning method for aircrafts, which makes full use of the built-inx000D
sensors in Phoenix Aircraft MonitorTM to determine aircraft latitude, longitude, and altitude.
