Recipient's Legal Name:

Program:
Engage Grants for universities
Program Purpose:

The purpose of this project is to determine an appropriate model to characterise the changes to uranium tailingsx000D
with time. The study will focus on the creep characteristics of the fine tails, which has been observed inx000D
previous (unpublished) studies. By better understanding the creep behaviour of the tails, it is expected that ax000D
more realistic model for sedimentation, consolidation and changes to the in-situ hydraulic conductivity of thex000D
tails can be developed. This work will provide a basis for additional testing and monitoring programsx000D
considered necessary for understanding and predicting the full-scale, longer-term response of aqueousx000D
deposited tails.
