Program Purpose:

The Southern Ontario Centre for Atmospheric Aerosol Research (SOCAAR) at the University of Toronto willx000D
partner with IMAX to investigate potential link between image quality and air quality in their theatres, andx000D
advise on standards for indoor air quality in IMAX theatres. Researchers will look for associations betweenx000D
screen/projector degradation and ambient air quality in select theatres worldwide. Results from this work willx000D
enable IMAX to continue to deliver a world-class cinema experience, and provide economic benefit in regardsx000D
to the longevity of their screens and high-tech projectors. As an added co-benefit of characterizing andx000D
developing an indoor air quality standard, cinema-goers will be potentially exposed to less pollution, improvingx000D
health outcomes.
