Program Purpose:

autonomousID has created an innovative product called BIOSOLE, a smart shoe insole with integratedx000D
sensors, microprocessors, accelerometer, battery system, and networking. BIOSOLE measures pressure atx000D_
multiple regions of the foot and foot movement while a person is standing, walking, running, or performingx000D
daily activities. This wearable monitoring system can be used to understand how a person moves, preventx000D
workplace injuries, monitors and prevents the sports injuries, monitors and tracks the progression of diseasesx000D
that affect the balance or a person's ability to move within the chosen environment. The project will evaluatex000D
the new BIOSOLE in terms of data validity and reliability, performance over multiple loading cycles, andx000D_
viability within a healthcare environment for point-of-care patient interaction. The project results will lead tox000D
BIOSOLE applications in the "pre-clinic, clinical care, followup" cycle in areas such as joint replacementx000D_
surgery, prosthetic and orthotic device fitting, and elderly fall risk monitoring.
