Program Purpose:

Kognitiv Spark and NBCC are collaborating on an augmented and mixed reality project. Together they arex000D
developing an augmented and mixed reality prototype using the Microsoft HoloLens to address a use casex000D
having industrial and location-based requirements.x000D
The primary purpose of the prototype development process will be to explore a number of specific technical,x000D
usability, or developmental issues identified by Kognitiv Spark and to which solutions to the issues willx000D
enhance its technology portfolio and consulting practice. A secondary purpose of the prototype will be to servex000D
as a demonstration and teaching platform of the capabilities of augmented and mixed reality for both Kognitivx000D
Spark and NBCC, thereby attracting new clients and developing highly qualified personnel (HQP) for Newx000D
Brunswick in this burgeoning sector. The tertiary purpose is to have the prototype leverage the Vuforiax000D
framework to identify real world objects by the HoloLens and be able to attach an augmented reality scene tox000D
the real world object as it moves. This project will serve as both a technical and collaborative stepping-stonex000D
towards a larger Smart Cities initiative of MFTi.
