Recipient's Legal Name:
Demarquette, Nicole (École de technologie supérieure)
Program:
Engage Grants for universities
Program Purpose:

The purpose of this project is carry out preliminary tests for the development of two Cellulose filament (CF)x000D
thermoplastic nanocomposites.x000D
Nylon and polypropylene, cellulose filament composites will be obtained using conventional polymerx000D
processing methods. The processing parameters as well as the additives to improve the dispersion of CF withinx000D
the thermoplastics will be optimized.x000D
The rheological, mechanical properties and water uptake of the composites will be evaluated.x000D
This project is coupled with a Mitacs Accelerate Standard project and will involve the work of a post-doctoralx000D
fellow.x000D
If the results are successful an Engage plus project as well as a Mitacs grappe project involving three internsx000D
will be considered.
