Grants and Contributions:
Grant or Award spanning more than one fiscal year (2017-2018 to 2018-2019).
Energy demand and remarkably increasing municipal waste will continue to rank among the world's biggestx000D
challenges in the coming decades. To address this issue, this proposal will investigate the feasibility ofx000D
hydrothermally pretreated source-separated organic (SSO) waste as feedstock material for methane production.x000D
A modern pre-treatment will be applied to SSO samples to optimize process-governing parameters such asx000D
tempertaure, pressure, hydraulic retention time in anaerobic digestion (AD) process. Key process parameters inx000D
this project will be defined experimentally. The findings from this study will improve overall process of SSOx000D
waste conversion to methane gas production via AD process, determine significant factors that slow down ax000D
process control and recommend an optimum solution for commercial utilization. Moreover, the results of thex000D
project will intrigue and facilitate future design, construction of new AD facilities and help with overcomingx000D
waste problems.
