thing going for mobile messaging applications is the sheer user base, over a billion monthly active usersx000D
worldwide. nandbox Inc. has developed innovative technologies for messaging communication platforms andx000D
Internet of Things (IoT) applications. nandbox is continuously developing new technologies to both expandx000D
their current offerings. nandbox has successfully released their text and voice messaging platform used alreadyx000D
by over a million subscribers worldwide. nandbox recently released their video call feature which completesx000D
their messaging offerings. However, nandbox is looking to develop a new innovative video communication tox000D
complete their innovative proprietary messaging platform.x000D
To enhance its product using its own proprietary messaging platform, nandbox urgently requires the ability tox000D
provide rich live video communication experience with real-time content analysis and processing to targetx000D
messaging video calls and conferencing at an affordable, integrated, scalable software solution. The solutionx000D
will include the automated extraction of metadata (e.g., detection of all objects including moving objects, faces,x000D
visual similarity) for use in video calls to increase user experience. This innovative solution will differentiatex000D
nandbox from its competitors and enlarge the number of subscribers in the next couple of years. This will openx000D
a whole section of innovation in video processing used in mobile messaging platforms, where nandbox will bex000D
well positioned and ahead of any competition.x000D
The project will be conducted at UQO by Dr. Ahmed Lakhssassi. In addition to contributing to the training ofx000D
two graduate students and one professional, this research will promote the development of Canadian industryx000D
by aiding nandbox in creating new processes, by developing new expertise in real-time video processingx000D
applied to mobile massaging platform that can directly translate to increased sales and improved productx000D
positioning. nandbox seeks to grow and dominate the $2.72 Billion market in 2018.
