Program Purpose:

In this research project, templates of a variation of electric machine known as synchronous reluctance machinex000D
will be added to the current database of EMWORKS, a Canadian based company specialized in modeling andx000D
analysis of electric machines. The synchronous reluctance machine with its numerous advantages such as lowx000D
manufacturing and maintenance cost and fault tolerance is gaining interest from industry for many applicationsx000D
such as traction and electric vehicles. Therefore, in recent years, several research works have been focused onx000D
design and modification of synchronous reluctance machines in academy and industry.x000D
This research collaboration provides an opportunity for EMWORKS to expand their software. Thus,x000D
incorporating a larger group of clients inside Canada and abroad. It is also beneficial to many Canadianx000D
research groups working on design and application of electric machines in academy and industry to achievex000D
their design goals faster and with higher accuracy.
