Mineral resources are an important component of Canada's economy and are necessary to support modernx000D
society. Such resources are, however, difficult to locate and extract efficiently. Red Pine Exploration is ax000D
small Canadian company that is exploring for gold near Wawa, Ontario. Understanding the chemistry of thex000D
rocks that host the gold is critical to efficient location of gold-rich rocks in this area. The rocks that host thex000D
gold have experienced many, overlapping events, leading to chemical complexity. This project is designed tox000D
unravel that complexity by carefully studying the minerals in different assemblages at Wawa and carrying outx000D
chemical analyses of the minerals using state-of-the-art techniques that allow the chemical character ofx000D
minerals to be determined at a microscopic scale. These data will allow Red Pine Exploration to betterx000D
understand the chemistry of the rocks that host the mineralization and more efficiently vector towards rocksx000D
with high gold grades.
