Program Purpose:

Intelligent drains refer to the provision of drain fittings attached to, and downstream of, hospital handwash sinks, said fittings which both stop the spread of pathogenic biofilm travel upward into the patient room and downstream to other fixtures, and suppress bacterial populations in the standing water contained in the necessary sink trap. This project uses GFP and other methods to quantify this performance.
