Zhang, John Xiupu (Concordia University)
Program:
Engage Grants for universities
Program Purpose:

Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) can detect, locate and measure/image objects in a given field of view,x000D
which has become a very hot technology due to artificial intelligence (AI) booming. This project will developx000D
the technologies for design of optical transmitters that can be used for LiDAR and also have features of 120x000D
lines and more than 180 degree of view field. The works include design of electric driving circuit, andx000D
alignment of laser diode array for better view coverage.x000D
Since AI is booming in the world and also in Canada, there are many companies in Canada and the worldx000D
developing driverless vehicles, which require LiDARs. Therefore, developed technologies and trained HQPx000D
will benefit Canada.
