Environmental monitoring for industrial contaminants in Canada remains focused on identifying increased levels of individual agents that are currently regulated. Unfortunately, this creates meaningful gaps as we attempt to assess the impact of highly dynamic and evolving industries on our environment. This project will forge a new relationship between Caro Analytical Services and the University of Alberta, in an effort to bring a new level of resolution to environmental monitoring. Over 12-months, this project will see the first stage in the integration of a novel platform of biomonitoring tools into Caro's commercial lab services. This platform focuses on assessment of chemical contamination of water resources, and offers both a) an increased capacity for quantitative functional outputs, and b) an ability to assess combinatorial toxicity stemming from mixtures of contaminants. x000D
