Engage Grants for Universities
Program Purpose:

For four decades, the Institut de Recherche d'Hydro-Québec (IREQ) has put its expertise and energy intox000D
supporting Hydro-Québec, helping the company, improve the performance of its operations, develop areas ofx000D
growth and better serve its customers. One of the main activities of IREQ focuses on the efficient simulation ofx000D
new solutions for production, transmission and utilisation of electrical power.x000D
Two challenges are faced currently by IREQ in this field:x000D
1.Accelerate the simulation of transient electromagnetic phenomena, where perturbations are injected and theirx000D
effects are analyzed.x000D
2.Integrate the electrical power simulator and simulators form other physical fields.x000D
This project aims to find a custom approach, tailored specifically in order to overcome the challengesx000D
mentioned above.
