Knee injuries and limitations can be caused by various circumstances such as neuromuscular disorders orx000D
sports accidents. In addition to requiring rehabilitation, these injuries limit an individual's independence andx000D
capabilities to perform the activities of daily living. Despite the growing trend in wearable healthcarex000D
technologies for use at home and outdoors, many of the currently available options, especially those used forx000D
rehabilitation, can still be costly, inconvenient, and obtrusive. Thus, there is a need to design and develop ax000D
low-cost comfortable wearable device that can be utilized in rehabilitation exercises to improve currentx000D
treatment strategies.x000D
The proposed research will focus on developing an innovative wearable device that can be used forx000D
rehabilitation, assisting the movement of those with knee limitations and disabilities and allowing for personalx000D
use at home and outdoors. This could potentially lead to improved independence, reduced healthcare costs, andx000D
a better quality of life for individuals with limited mobility. Results of the research are also anticipated tox000D
position the supporting organization to become a leader in wearable technologies.
