The problem of optimizing reserve exploitation depends largely on the mining option used in the extraction.x000D
Some mineral deposits have orebodies that extend from near the surface to several meters in depth. Suchx000D
deposits can be amenable to both open pit mining and/or underground mining. The strategic mining optionsx000D
optimization framework will use mathematical programming models to assist IAMGOLD Canada in makingx000D
robust decisions as to which strategic plan maximizes the overall project value and provides the platform forx000D
sustainable natural resource development.
