Drill Co Mining and Exploration is seeking to partner with Canadore College to reduce the mass of their main mast assembly.x000D

The proposed project will involve in the development and initial validation of designs through prototypes of components for the mast assembly of Drillco's exploration and production drill. The research team at Canadore College will use detailed load cases and lightweight structural design principles (including topology optimization) to reduce the mass of a number of critical components on the mast assembly. x000D

Considerations in the process development will include upstream load case analysis, component interoperability, and manufacturability of the final design. The process will be validated through the development of a number of prototype components to be tested by the Drill Co and Canadore teams.x000D
