Program Purpose:

Liquid repellent coatings have garnered huge attention among scientific communities owing to their widex000D
spectrum of possible applications. These coatings have played crucial role not only in developing new tools andx000D
technologies but also helped in improving the performance of existing ones. To this point, plethora of reportsx000D
claiming liquid repellent coatings have been surfaced, however, very few have managed to get recognized forx000D
industrial applications. Still the search for cost effective and durable liquid repellent coatings is ongoingx000D
activity; this proposal abides the objective of development of a highly durable liquid repellent coating withx000D
potential of being utilized for industrial applications. The liquid repellent coating will be designed by thex000D
partner industry and its performance evaluation will be carried out at iSSELab University of Alberta. Thex000D
performance of the coating will be investigated in different environment conditions and the effect of variousx000D
parameters on the durability of the coatings will be probed.
