Program Purpose:

This project will initiate a first time collaboration between the Willerth laboratory at the University of Victoriax000D
and Immunoprecise Antibodies Ltd. located in Victoria, B.C. Immunoprecise Antibodies Ltd. is a localx000D
biotechnology company with over 25 years of experience in the custom antibody business. One of their majorx000D
products includes their proprietary technology for generating custom rabbit monoclonal antibodies using theirx000D
technology, which screens the immune repertoire of the rabbit for selecting the desired antibody directly fromx000D
B cells. The major goal of this Engage project is to develop a work flow for analyzing the antibody populationsx000D
produced in these rabbit systems using next generation sequencing as a way to streamline the antibodyx000D
production process. The major challenges will be 1) obtaining sequencing data from the population of immunex000D
cells and 2) analyzing the resulting sequence data using bioinformatics. The Willerth lab will provide personnelx000D
and expertise to achieve these goals. This project will train highly qualified personnel in the areas ofx000D
biotechnology, cell culture, and bioinformatics.
