This contribution facilitates the establishment of a Qalipu First Nation Indigenous Guardian program in the southern part of Gros Morne National Park and adjoining area. This initiative enhances the protection of Atlantic salmon in rivers which have significant sections outside of the park and supports efforts to recover the Trout River salmon population which is at a critically low level.
