The contribution supports the construction of a traditional birch bark canoe from an traditional canoe builder-elder with the help from an Indigenous apprenticeship program to support the transfer of traditional knowledge of canoe building to the next Indigenous generation. The contribution also supports the Mawiomi 2022, which is an event lead by Mi’gmawe’l Tplu’taqnn Incorporated taking place to celebrate Indigenous Peoples in New Brunswick.
