This contribution enables the Council of the Haida Nation to continue to manage the Haida Gwaii Watchmen Program, which has been in place for more than 40 years and is viewed as a model for guardian program initiatives internationally. This will improve the long-term sustainability of the program and supports ongoing Haida stewardship, the continuity of Haida culture and is in the spirit of GayG̱ahlda | Kwah.hlahl.dáyaa “Changing Tide Reconciliation Framework Agreement.”
