This grant supports the repair of a hand made birch bark canoe. The canoe was used to transport the repatriated human remains from the Smithonian Institution in Washington D.C. back to Batchewana First Nation and it is currently on display in the Sault Ste. Marie Canal’s exhibit. These repairs are needed to ensure it's conservation.
