This contribution supports the Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq in expanding the Nuji Kelo’toqatijik (Earthkeepers) Guardians Network to include an Aquatics Division. The goals of the Aquatics Division Guardians Program is to further build capacity within the organization, expand community engagement, and facilitate the transfer of Indigenous traditional knowledge systems between Mi’kmaw knowledge keepers/Elders and youth, using a Etuaptmumk (Two-eyed seeing) approach to all work carried out.
