Description:
This contribution supports Red Rock Indian Band in the recovery of ancestral remains that were disturbed during excavation for the construction of the Lake Superior Administration and Visitor Centre. The project includes excavation, archaeological assessment, and burial site investigations. The Band will manage contracts related to burial site investigations on private properties and security of excavated materials on Band property, as well as return of excavated materials to origin site with the intent of reburial of the ancestors where they were found.
