Description:

Facilitation of Sinixt Activities, Engagement and Collaboration in the National Parks: This contribution supports activities and engagement of Sinixt Confederacy, related to the operations and management of Mount Revelstoke and Glacier national parks and Rogers Pass National Historic Site. Development of a Sinixt Indigenous Guardians Program: The contribution supports the development of an Indigenous Guardian Program proposal and Strategic Plan with clear terms of reference and a timeline for implementation, including a pilot phase. The Indigenous Guardian Program will reflect the unique needs and visions of the Sinixt Confederacy and its people and will help maintain and revitalize connections with lands, waters, and wildlife that sustain the systems of Indigenous knowledge, culture and stewardship practices. Development of a Stories of Canada Project in Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks: The contribution supports initial work and collaboration on the development and delivery of Indigenous content and stories in Mount Revelstoke and Glacier national parks. It includes funding to support Indigenous research and research capacity.
