GC-1627

$94,500.00
Agreement Date:
Feb 23, 2022 - Apr 30, 2022
Description:
This contribution supports Alberta Pork to eradicate or control the Invasive Wild Boar (Eurasian Wild Hog) in Elk Island National Park and Area. Over the last two years, wild boars have become prevalent in Elk Island National Park. Sighting are increasing and evidence of habitat destruction in the Park is becoming obvious. A breeding population is thought to have now established. Under the current trend of increasing sighting and presence, EINP anticipates that this will become a long term problem. Wild boar (Eurasian Wild Hog) are not native to Alberta and, as an invasive pest, damage the environment.
