Grants and Contributions:

Canadian athletes receive financial support in the form of a living and training allowance, plus tuition and supplementary support for one or more of the following purposes: to offset costs while developing to achieve elite level performance and/or for tuition support necessary to pursue academic goals and/or for financial barriers facing athletes with (a) child dependents and/or (b) Paralympic athletes having high support needs and/or (c) relocation assistance and/or (d) retirement transition.

The program contributes to the pursuit of excellence through its support for improved Canadian athlete performances at major international sporting events, enabling athletes to combine their sport and academic or working careers while training intensively in pursuit of world-class performances. To this end, the Program identifies and supports athletes already at or having the potential to be in the top sixteen in the world in their sport.
