Grants and Contributions:

1. Lower business costs for Canadian magazines and community newspapers;
2. Increased number of innovation and development projects undertaken by publishers;
3. Increased number of industry development initiatives undertaken by magazine and community newspaper associations; 4. Readers in Canada have access to a broad range of Canadian periodicals, paid and free; 5. Canadian artistic expressions and cultural content are created and accessible at home and abroad.

Recipient type is currently not captured in our current system. Agreement start date is based on the approval date and in some cases on eligible activities due to current system limitations.

Provides grants and contributions to the Canadian magazine and community newspaper industries so that they can continue to produce and distribute Canadian content in the face of systemic disadvantages in the marketplace. Most of the Program’s resources are dedicated to grants and contributions to private-sector Canadian publishing enterprises, but associations of companies or individuals representing, or related to, the magazine and community newspaper publishing industries are also eligible.
