Grants and Contributions:

1. Indigenous language stakeholders implement projects to revitalize, preserve and promote Indigenous languages;
2. Mobilized groups, organizations and communities use and share Indigenous languages within Indigenous domains and cultural contexts;
3. Reversal of the current downward trend in the use and fluency of Indigenous languages.

Recipient type is currently not captured in our current system. Agreement start date is based on the approval date and in some cases on eligible activities due to current system limitations.

Focuses primarily on strengthening cultural identity, encouraging the full participation of Indigenous peoples in Canadian life, and on supporting the continuation of Indigenous cultures and languages as living elements of Canadian society. ILCP programming incorporates Indigenous values, cultures and traditional practices into community-driven activities designed to strengthen cultural identity and enable positive life choices and supports the Office of the Commissioner for Indigenous Languages.
