Program Purpose:
The program (hereafter referred to as the MAR Program) is how the Government of Canada implements the Canadian Multiculturalism Act or the intentions of the Act. It also aligns with Canada’s Anti-Racism Strategy as well as with other federal legislation that articulate the values held by Canadians, among them the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Canadian Human Rights Act, and the Employment Equity Act.
