Grants and Contributions:

1. Designated institutions and public authorities, Indigenous governing bodies and Indigenous heritage organizations have opportunities to apply for a grant to acquire significant cultural property pursuant to the Act.
2. Cultural property of outstanding significance and national importance threatened with export is retained in Canada pursuant to the Act with the aid of a grant.
3. Cultural property related to the Canadian national heritage is repatriated or patriated with the aid of a grant.

Recipient type is currently not captured in our current system. Agreement start date is based on the approval date and in some cases on eligible activities due to current system limitations.

Support the retention in Canada of cultural, historic, and scientific heritage and protects objects of cultural significance for the benefit of the public, in accordance with the Act.
