Grants and Contributions:
The T2D Prevention Challenge promotes community innovation by attracting a broad range of innovators to develop and implement new approaches to T2D prevention. It supports the creation of new partnership models that build on community strengths and develops diverse options to reduce T2D risk across communities in Canada. The Challenge also generates new knowledge to better understand and measure T2D risk among populations, supporting more effective and targeted prevention efforts.
In partnership with Impact Canada, PHAC is delivering the Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) Prevention Challenge to support innovators in developing and implementing community co-designed approaches that address barriers and determinants of health associated with increased T2D risk in communities across Canada. The Challenge uses a Grand Challenge model, which funds a wide range of innovations through open and thematic competitions and emphasizes rigorous evaluation of effectiveness. It is delivered in three stages: concept application intake, concept development, and implementation with evidence generation
