Evidence-informed interventions that aim to support individual, community/environmental, policy, and system changes are implemented. Intersectoral partners are engaged in these interventions, populations participate, and project participants have increased capabilities to support health and improved health.
The Promoting Health Equity: Mental Health of Black Canadians (MHBC) Fund supports Black people in Canada to develop more culturally focused knowledge, capacity, and programs to improve mental health and its determinants. Its objectives are to increase understanding of the unique barriers to and social determinants of mental health for Black people in Canada, increase knowledge of effective, culturally focused approaches and programs for improving mental health, including a focus on youth, families, and community environments, and increase capacity within Black Canadian communities to address barriers to mental health.
