Program:
Preventing Family Violence Program
Program Purpose:

The Preventing Family Violence program funds and tests health promotion interventions that prevent family violence and support survivors, including child maltreatment, youth dating violence, intimate partner violence, and elder abuse. Some initiatives work directly with individuals, while others strengthen the capacity of health and social service professionals. Its goal is to expand the use of effective, trauma‑ and violence‑informed interventions by building evidence on what works, for whom, and in which contexts. The program supports Canada’s Strategy to Prevent and Address Gender‑Based Violence.
