Description:
This project will support Nunavik Inuit self-determination in research via support for the creation of the Nunavik Regional Research Authority (NRRA). This project is about the establishment of a genetics lab within the Nunavik Research Centre, which will allow for the preparation, sequencing, and analysis of genetic samples provided by Nunavimmiut. Not only will this add research infrastructure in Nunavik, it will eventually increase capacity by encouraging young Nunavimmiut to become more active participants in research that will address Nunavimmiut research priorities.
