The overarching objective of this research is to improve the acceptance, efficacy and nimbleness of wildlife management and conservation through capacity building and integration of local, traditional, and scientific knowledge.

Expected Results:
The project will generate LEK and new scientific data on muskox and DU caribou health and population trajectories, including insights into mechanisms of change. These data, together with scientific sampling, will result in a comprehensive data set that will allow a regional analysis of muskox and caribou health. Finally, we will develop new models and decision support tools to mobilize this knowledge into management and public health actions.
