Description:
The purpose of the project is to develop and implement a new framework and governance structure for volunteer GSAR within Alberta which incorporates GSAR’s All-Hazards ability to respond to emergency management incidents in collaboration with SARVAC's program.

Expected Results:

The short term outcome is to creation of all committees and working groups, draft of the framework and governance structure. The medium term outcome is developed framework and governance documents for SAR Alberta, training needs for emergency response identified and training program draft completed, key GSAR members trained in leadership/change management, inter and multijurisdictional emergency response exercises planned and executed. The long-term outcome is a new structure and sustainable framework for GSAR and SAR Alberta which includes an integrated emergency response program and adoption of an accreditation/certification program and process.
