Description:
The CRC will provide up to twenty qualified medical personnel as surge support to the NWT. Following the Program’s governance, this project was endorsed by the Deputy Ministers Emergency Management Committee (DM-EMC) on August 21, 2021. The RFA was approved for an initial two-week period, with the further possibility of two, 2-week extensions based on continuing needs and availability of personnel.

Expected Results:

The NWT will receive necessary surge support in the areas of COVID-19 testing, contact tracing, public health and community nursing, and patient care. Staff currently working in these fields will receive needed support to reduce workload and residents of NWT will continue to receive quality care, mitigating the impacts of COVID-19 outbreaks in the Territories.

(HWF) Supporting a Humanitarian Workforce to Respond to COVID-19 and Other Large-Scale Emergencies
Program Purpose:

The objective of the Program is to enable the CRC to support Canadians’ needs stemming from COVID-19, floods and wildfires. Through the provision of funding to the CRC under this program, the CRC will have the resources to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on Canadians as well as that of floods and wildfires.
