This 5-month project will build a robust infrastructure allowing The Priory of Canada of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (St. John Ambulance) to successfully expand their emergency response volunteer services. This will allow the organization to increase their readiness capacity to deploy and respond to COVID-19 and other large-scale emergencies across Canada.

Immediate Outcomes: Additional staffing will enhance the organization’s capacity to respond to COVID-19 and other large-scale emergencies; Intermediate Outcomes: The Volunteer Management System will improve efficiency and streamline deployments during emergency events, Volunteer recruitment and training will enhance response capabilities across Canada, Deployment resources and equipment supply points will be established for efficient emergency response, A National Coordination Centre will develop national operationalization capacity, Long Term Outcomes: A whole of community approach is used to develop, maintain, and improve preparedness, response and recovery for all-hazards risks

The objective of the Program is to enable the CRC to support Canadians’ needs stemming from COVID-19, floods and wildfires. Through the provision of funding to the CRC under this program, the CRC will have the resources to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on Canadians as well as that of floods and wildfires.
