This 5-month project will build a robust infrastructure allowing The Priory of Canada of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (St. John Ambulance) to successfully expand their emergency response volunteer services. This will allow the organization to increase their readiness capacity to deploy and respond to COVID-19 and other large-scale emergencies across Canada.

Immediate Outcomes: Deliver existing search and rescue capabilities that are broadened to all-hazards risks, fully established Emergency Management Governance for Search and Rescue (EMGOSAR) Framework and National SAAR Operations Concept (NSOC); Intermediate Outcomes: Provision of a national response to COVID-19 and other large-scale emergencies across Canada of up to 9,000 members amongst 300+ teams; Long Term Outcomes: A whole of community approach is used to develop, maintain, and improve preparedness, response and recovery for all-hazards risks

Program Purpose:

The objective of the Program is to enable the CRC to support Canadians’ needs stemming from COVID-19, floods and wildfires. Through the provision of funding to the CRC under this program, the CRC will have the resources to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on Canadians as well as that of floods and wildfires.
