Description:
This proposal from the Canadian Red Cross (CRC) follows a request for federal assistance received from the Government of Nova Scotia submitted on December 29, 2021, for support to Nova Scotia’s COVID-19 Immunization Program. The CRC will provide up to 14 immunizers and 10 generalists to support the vaccination effort.

The province of Nova Scotia will receive the necessary support in order to facilitate the administration of the vaccine campaign in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Staff currently working in this area will receive the needed support to reduce workload. Residents of Nova Scotia will continue to receive quality care, mitigating the impacts of COVID-19 outbreaks in the province.

Program Purpose:
The objective of the Program is to enable the CRC to support Canadians’ needs stemming from COVID-19, floods and wildfires. Through the provision of funding to the CRC under this program, the CRC will have the resources to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on Canadians as well as that of floods and wildfires.
