This proposal follows a request for assistance submitted by the Government of the Northwest Territories. The request identified capacity gaps caused by outbreaks of COVID-19 in Yellowknife. CRC will support the response by providing surge staff to assist with the operations of shelters in order to continue to deliver critical services to vulnerable populations for up to four weeks.

(HWF) Supporting a Humanitarian Workforce to Respond to COVID-19 and Other Large-Scale Emergencies
Program Purpose:
The objective of the Program is to enable the CRC to support Canadians’ needs stemming from COVID-19, floods and wildfires. Through the provision of funding to the CRC under this program, the CRC will have the resources to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on Canadians as well as that of floods and wildfires.
