Amendment to re-profile funds to 2022-2023, extend end date to April 30, 2022 and increase funds by $42,000 in order to continue to initiate a national strategy for search and rescue (SAR) engagement by establishing foundational cornerstones for the Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada (SARVAC). This will increase the organization’s workforce capacity to deploy and respond to COVID-19 and other large-scale emergencies across Canada.

Amendment to continue the development of an Emergency Management Governance for Search and Rescue (EMGOSAR)  framework, as well as the development of a National SAR Operations Concept (NSOC). These two capabilities will enable national operationalization of SARVAC.

The objective of the Program is to enable the CRC to support Canadians’ needs stemming from COVID-19, floods and wildfires. Through the provision of funding to the CRC under this program, the CRC will have the resources to reduce the impact of COVID-19 on Canadians as well as that of floods and wildfires.
