Description:
Canada Task Force 2 (CANTF2) continues to invest in the development and maintenance of the skills, equipment and experience required to respond to large-scale incidents in Alberta and across Canada. Working alongside partners across the country, CANTF2 is working to build a robust HUSAR response network that is aligned, coordinated, consistent, and ready to respond when needed. The project will see CANTF2 more effectively equipped to respond to disasters through lifecycle replacement of outdated technology and equipment, and investment in new technologies and equipment to expand operational readiness.

Expected Results:
CANTF2 is more effectively equipped to respond to disasters and has replaced outdated or expiring equipment and materials. Participates in training exercises to improves interoperability with other HUSAR teams, including the 2023 Coastal Response Exercise in British Columbia. Improves capabilities to respond to emergencies affecting urban centers in an efficient, effective, and coordinated manner as well as contributes to more robust national capabilities of the collective HUSAR body across Canada.

The Program also aims to develop HUSAR capacity and capability in the underserved regions of Montreal (Quebec) and Halifax (Nova Scotia).
