Description:
Thunderbird Partnership Foundation will host a 3-day national hybrid conference and communities that have undertaken the Community Safety Planning (CSP) process provided by Public Safety Canada will be invited. The desired outcome is to create a better understanding and application of the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework (FNMWCF) in community safety planning especially those of the Aboriginal Community Safety Planning Initiative (ACSPI).

Expected Results:

The projected outcomes for this project include: Creation of a Cultural Trauma-informed Strength-based program that effectively engages with the existing community safety programs and policies, which will be guided through the lens of the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework (FNMWCF); The gathering will provide access to additional practical support resources; ability to collaborate with peers, and a safe space to develop an understanding of the complex trauma, substance use harms, justice issues, housing issues, and community safety challenges that First Nations are dealing with across the country; and Integration of the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework in First Nations Community Safety Planning.
