Redirect mental health and addiction calls to trusted community health and social service providers, respond to youth crises to prevent future gun and gang association, and provide opportunities for youth to exit gang involvement.
The purpose of this amendment is to change the Recipient legal name from the Region of Waterloo Public Health and Emergency Services to Regional Municipality of Waterloo. There is no change to the Public Safety Canada funding amount.
The program purpose is to support Municipalities and
Indigenous governments in their efforts to address gun and gang prevalence by providing a
determined funding allocation to put in place community led projects to combat gun and gang violence and address knowledge gaps concerning the impacts of interventions in gun and gang
violence.
